Forty citizens in Putuo are invited to visit the district's administrative service center on Friday during a "government open day" event.

The citizens working, living or studying in Putuo were invited to visit the district's administrative service center and new archives before joining a conversation with the district director Zhou Minhao.

"The government is eager to hear more advices from the citizens to help the district’s growth," said Zhou.

Putuo has been selected as a demonstration district in Shanghai to open its offices to the public since 2017. The government invited the first batch of citizens to the government buildings in August.

During the open day on Friday, the participants were introduced the newly launched "one-stop" service stations and application procedures at the center at 602 Tongpu Road. They also tried out the latest facial recognition and big data technologies.

The new district archives beside the service center displayed the history and modern development of Putuo. Many key exhibits such as the former posters and products of China's earliest industries once based in Putuo are on display for the first time.
